1.0 Baggage Information

Cabin Baggage Allowance

You are permitted to take one piece of cabin baggage on board within the following dimensions: 56x45x25 cm.

With a 10kg weight limit on cabin baggage. If your cabin baggage is more than 10kg - must be checked in as a checked baggage for a fee. http://cobalt.aero/fee-table

Due to space limitations on full flights, we may have placed your cabin baggage in the aircraft hold at no additional cost to you. This baggage will be available for collection on arrival at the aircraft steps.

Oversized cabin baggage in excess of the above permitted weight and dimensions will be tagged and placed in the aircraft hold and may incur additional charges at the boarding gate. Governments and Airport Authorities have directed that for security reasons, all knives, sharp objects or cutting implements of any kind whether metal or otherwise and some sporting goods must be placed in your checked baggage. ‘Sporting goods' include but are not limited to sporting bats, snooker cues, or hockey sticks, tennis rackets and catapults. If you are carrying any such item, they must be packed in your checked baggage.

Liquids in Cabin Baggage

As per EC Regulation 1546/2006 only very small quantities of liquids and gels may be brought through customer screening. Containers must be no more than 100 millilitres capacity and held in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag (which must be sealed). Bags must be less than 1-litre capacity (approx. 20cm x 20cm). 1 plastic bag is allowed per customer. Medicines, Special Diet Products and Baby Foods are allowed if essential for use during the trip and customers may be asked to prove that these products are genuine.

Checked Baggage Additional Infomation

Minor damages

We are unable to accept liability for damage to baggage due to wear and tear, which includes the following:

  • Minor cuts, scratches, scuffs, dents, dirt and stains

  • Damage to wheels, feet or extending handles

  • Damage to fragile or perishable items

  • Damage due to over-packed baggage

  • Loss of external locks pull straps, security straps or zipper tabs

  • Baggage accepted under the conditions of the Limited Release Tag (LRT)

  • Items confiscated by airport authorities or security

Valuables

Passengers should not include the following items in their checked baggage:

  • Fragile and perishable items

  • Valuables

  • Computers and personal electronic devices

  • Stored data

  • Camera

  • Any medication or medical equipment

  • Valuable documents such as business documents, passports, certificates, identification documents, negotiable papers etc.

Limited Release Baggage Tag

We accept fragile, perishable, and inadequately-packed baggage upon completion of a Limited Release Baggage tag. Baggage with pre-existing damage shall likewise be accepted as a Limited Release Baggage.

The Limited Release Baggage Tag releases the airline from liabilities on baggage resulting from any pre-existing damage or unsuitability for transport.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Any additional pieces of baggage in excess of your allowance may be liable for additional charges.

Sporting Equipment

Sporting Equipment refers to large pieces such as surfboards, bicycles, hunting trophies, and is excluded from your checked baggage allowance. Details of the sporting equipment charges are available here

Musical Instruments

Small musical instruments such as violins may be taken on board.

Large musical instruments such as drums; double bases must be included in your checked baggage allowance. An additional seat can be purchased on board for a cello.Please contact our Call Centre for further information. Due to the fragile nature of large musical instruments, Cobalt does not accept liability for any damage caused to such items during loading.

Prohibited Articles

1. Without prejudice to applicable safety rules, passengers are not permitted to carry the following articles into security restricted areas and on board an aircraft:

1.1. GUNS, FIREARMS AND OTHER DEVICES THOSE DISCHARGE PROJECTILES – DEVICES CAPABLE, OR APPEARING CAPABLE, OF BEING USED TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY BY DISCHARGING A PROJECTILE, INCLUDING:

a) Firearms of all types, such as pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns

b) Toy guns, replicas and imitation firearms capable of being mistaken for real weapons

c) Component parts of firearms, excluding telescopic sights

d) Compressed air and CO2 guns, such as pistols, pellet guns, rifles and ball bearing guns

e) Signal flare pistols and starter pistols

f) Bow, crossbows, and arrows

g) Harpoon guns and spear guns

h) Slingshots and catapults

1.2. STUNNING DEVICES – DEVICES DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO STUN OR IMMOBILISE, INCLUDING:

a) Devices for shocking, such as stun guns, tasers and stun batons

b) Animal stunners and animal killers

c) Disabling and incapacitating chemicals, gases and sprays, such as mace, pepper spray, capsicum sprays, tear gas, acid sprays and animal repellent sprays

 

1.3. OBJECTS WITH A SHARP POINT OR SHARP EDGE – OBJECTS WITH A SHARP POINT OR SHARP EDGE CAPABLE OF BEING USED TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY, INCLUDING:

a) Items designed for choppings, such as axes, hatchets, and cleavers

b) Ice axes and ice picks

c) Razor blades

d) Box cutters

e) Knives with blades of more than 6cms

f) Scissors with blades of more than 6cms as measured from the fulcrum

g) Martial arts equipment with a sharp point or sharp edge

h) Swords and sabres

 

1.4. WORKMEN’S TOOLS – TOOLS CAPABLE OF BEING USED EITHER TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR TO THREATEN THE SAFETY OF THE AIRCRAFT, INCLUDING:

a) Crowbars

b) Drills and drill bits, including cordless portable power drills

c) Tools with a blade or a shaft of more than 6 cms capable of use as a weapon, such as screwdrivers and chisels

d) Saws, including cordless portable power, saws

e) Blowtorches, Bolt guns and nail guns

1.5. BLUNT INSTRUMENTS – OBJECTS CAPABLE OF BEING USED TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY WHEN USED TO HIT, INCLUDING:

a) Baseball and softball bats

b) Clubs and batons, such as billy clubs, blackjacks and night sticks

c) Martial arts equipment

 

1.6. EXPLOSIVE AND INCENDIARY SUBSTANCES AND DEVICES – EXPLOSIVES AND INCENDIARY SUBSTANCES AND DEVICES CAPABLE, OR APPEARING CAPABLE, OF BEING USED TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR TO POSE A THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF AIRCRAFT,INCLUDING:

a) Ammunition

b) Blasting caps

c) Detonators and fuses

d) Replica or imitation explosive devices

e) Mines, grenades and other explosive military stores

f) Fireworks and other pyrotechnics

g) Smoke-generating canisters and smoke generating cartridges

h) Dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives

Cobalt Checked Baggage List of Prohibited Articles

Customers are not permitted to carry the following articles in their checked baggage:

Explosives and incendiary substances and devices – explosives and incendiary substances and devices capable of being used to cause serious injury or to pose a threat to the safety of aircraft, including:

– Ammunition

– Blasting caps

– Detonators and fuses

– Mines, grenades and other explosive military stores

– Fireworks and other pyrotechnics

– Smoke-generating canisters and smoke-generating cartridges

– Dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives

Delayed Baggage

Contact the claims counter usually found in the airport arrivals lounge and report it. A claim can only be done before the passenger leaves the airport.

Damaged Baggage

Cobalt is not responsible for minor damage to the exterior of baggage (e.g. scratches, stains, soiling, dents) resulting from normal wear and tear, or for water damage to non-waterproof baggage.

Missing Items from Baggage

In the event you notice any items missing from your checked baggage, you will be required to contact your local police authority to declare those items missing. Please submit the police report along with your baggage file reference and your baggage tag receipts for assessment

2.0 Pregnant Passengers

After the 28 weeks, you need to carry a certificate or letter from a registered medical practitioner confirming:

  • The estimated date of delivery

  • Whether it is a single or multiple pregnancies

  • That your pregnancy is routine and that there are no complications

The certificate or letter must be available on request and be carried with you at the airport and during the flight.

If you do have complications with your pregnancy, a Medical Clearance is also required.

Beyond 36 weeks of single pregnancy and beyond 32 weeks for multiple pregnancies, air travel is prohibited

After delivery, medical clearance is required if you are travelling within 7 days of your delivery date.

A newborn cannot travel for 48 hours after delivery and need to complete the

to travel between 3 and 7 days after delivery.

Note: Cobalt does not represent that travel is safe for you at any particular point during your pregnancy. You must seek advice from your own medical practitioner prior to your flight. The periods referred to above are only our minimum requirements.

3.0 Boarding & Check-in Information

Passport and security checks and boarding can take longer than expected. To prevent delays, we ask that you arrive at both the airport and the gate on time. Check-in desks open two hours before departure.

Exception: Check-in counters at TLV airport opens 3hrs and closes 1hr prior to departure

4.0 Flight Disruption

Flight disruption is something we try and prevent but if your flight is disrupted, we can help. See Flight Disruption Policy.

5.0 Travel Documents

At various points during your journey, you will be required to prove your identity with a valid travel document. Different countries and regions may require different types of travel documents. It is the responsibility of each passenger to present valid required travel documents and visas and for complying with all laws, regulations and travel requirements of countries to be flown from, into or through which you transit. Without essential travel documents, you may not be allowed to board your flight. We strongly recommend that you contact the relevant embassy of the country you are travelling to if you have any questions.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

If you are travelling to any of the European countries including Schengen Countries you will need a Passport or national ID card.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS FOR CHILDREN

For international flights children and infants require their own individual valid passport.

APIS INFORMATION

Advance Passenger Information (API or APIS) is required to be submitted by all passengers departing or arriving in the United Kingdom. This information is collected by us before you check-in. This information is then securely sent to the necessary government authorities.

 

You will be required to supply the following details:

Name

Date of Birth (DOB)

Gender

Nationality

Country of residence

Type of travel document

Number of the travel document

Expiry date of the travel document

Country of issue

6.0 Payments

What is a pre-authorization and how will the hold on my credit card be released?

A pre-authorization is a temporary hold of a specific amount of the available balance on a credit / debit card and may occur during an online transaction. This could happen due to various reasons: miscommunications between multiple systems involved in the transaction, expired shopping session, delays in authorization of the payment from the bank of a cardholder. The pre-authorization is not a charge but a bank practice of blocking the amount on the cardholder’s account until the clearing of a transaction, in order to avoid unnecessary transfers between bank accounts. Therefore, you will not be charged if the transaction has failed.

Cobalt sends an automated cancellation request to the bank for the hold to be released. This request states clearly that our company will not charge the hold. It is the bank’s responsibility to release the hold from your account and it depends on its policy when you will have the blocked amount available on your account.

In any case, we advise you to contact your bank and ask for more information regarding this issue.

If you wish to proceed with a new booking, we advise you to try again from a different browser.

7.0 Recommendations for passengers with peanut allergies

Passengers with nut or animals allergies should carefully review our policies and procedures and determine whether they are safe to fly in the cabin environment we can provide. They should also bring aboard any medications or devices that might become necessary should they incur an allergic reaction during flight. They must also inform Cabin Crew of their severe peanut or tree nut allergy. We recommend that customers with allergies to nuts and peanuts bring their own food items. Please note that we do not have microwaves or refrigerators onboard.

Allergen-sensitive minors should never travel unaccompanied.

 

Cobalt cannot guarantee a peanut/nut free environment. Peanuts, products made from peanut oil, and other nuts may possibly be served onboard or brought onboard by any passenger. Even though routine cleaning procedures of the aircraft is carried out, peanut or tree nut remnants, peanut dust or peanut oil may be on the aircraft floor, seats or tray tables from previous flights. Cobalt shall decline any requests from passengers to make announcements on board our aircraft towards passengers requesting them not to consume nuts and or other related products. Cobalt shall decline any requests from passengers in order to refrain or avoid serving or selling nuts or other related products on any of our flights.

 

 

8.0 Passengers with Special Needs

Cobalt is happy to provide all necessary services to ensure that passengers with special needs enjoy a comfortable flight and safe embarkation and disembarkation.

Special assistance is available for BLIND, DEAF or ELDERLY passengers at check-in and during the boarding and deplaning process. WHEELCHAIRS are provided and own wheelchairs are carried free of charge.

Assistance should be requested at the time of your booking to enable us to make all necessary arrangements.

 

Mobility and Wheelchair assistance

Please let us know what level of mobility assistance you need at the time of your booking. There are three types of wheelchair assistance:

  • Wheelchair is required to cover the distance to/from the aircraft, or lounge but can ascend and descend steps

  • Wheelchair is required to cover the distance to/from the aircraft or lounge as well as carried up/down the steps

  • Wheelchair is required to/from the transport and the customer must be carried up/down and to/from the seat

 

Travelling with your own wheelchair

When you are travelling with your own wheelchair, we need the following information:

  • Whether manual or battery operated ( wet or dry battery )

  • Dimensions

  • Number of batteries installed

  • Collapsible or non-collapsible wheelchair

 

Deaf

Please inform us if you need any assistance for an announcement on the ground and on board

Blind

Please inform us if you are blind and need assistance or if you are travelling with accompanied seeing-eye dog.

Elderly

Assistance can be provided for elderly people and you are travelling alone
